Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) For the Lagos state gubernatorial election, has been declared winner of the polls.
Premium Times reported that Sanwo-olu defeated Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with 533,304 votes.
INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede declared Sanwo-Olu winner having polled 739, 445 votes, winning all local governments in the process, while Agbaje polled 206,141 votes.
Sanwo-Olu, took to his Instagram, to inform the public that Agbaje called him to congratulate him on his victory. He said:
I received with all sense of appreciation and humility, the symbolic congratulatory call Mr. Jimi Agbaje just made to me on my victory in the just concluded Governorship election in Lagos State. This demonstration of sportsmanship is highly commendable, and an indication of the politics of love and brotherhood that drives development in Lagos State. #foragreaterlagos
